What makes us different

Built around every child

Every aspect of Busy Bugs has been designed to create an environment where all children—regardless of need—feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow.

Specialist SEN Support

Three dedicated nurture rooms staffed by experienced practitioners who understand different levels of additional needs. We work closely with families to create individual support plans that help every child reach their potential. We work on a lower ratio within these rooms.

Funding from 9 Months

Working parent funding is now available from 9 months. We'll help you understand what you're entitled to and make the process straightforward.

Award-Winning Environment

Multiple awards including recognition for our garden project, toothbrushing program, and overall approach to early years care. We don't just meet standards—we set them. We were nominated for green award BBC Radio Stoke.

Home-Like Setting

We've transformed our nursery into smaller, nurturing spaces that feel like home. Children thrive when they feel safe, comfortable, and understood.

Sustainable Nursery

We are a sustainable nursery with designated sustainability leads. This involves children helping to grow our own foods in our own gardening area.

Every child deserves
the right support

Our specialist SEN provision goes beyond standard nursery care. We've created dedicated spaces and processes to ensure every child with additional needs receives truly individualised support.

Family Programs

You're part
of this too

We believe the best outcomes happen when families are involved. That's why we've created programs that bring parents into the nursery experience—not as observers, but as active participants.

🌱

Growing with Sarah

Your children learn to grow vegetables and herbs in our award-winning garden. Then you join cooking sessions where we turn what they've grown into meals together.

👩‍🍳

Cooking with Mirren

Our chef teaches families to cook nutritious meals from different cultures. Learn techniques, share recipes, and build confidence in the kitchen.

🤸

Be Active Sessions

Weekly movement and activity sessions for children, helping develop coordination, confidence, and a love of being active. Also weekly sessions with children.

🔄

Swap Shop

A community clothes exchange. Bring what your children have outgrown, take what you need. Simple as that. This also includes household items, adults clothes and children's toys.

📚

Children's Library

Open to families in our community, not just nursery parents. Borrow books, join story sessions, and help your child discover reading.

Sustainability

Teaching care for the world
they'll inherit

Sustainability isn't a buzzword here—it's embedded in everything we do. From growing food in our garden to teaching children about recycling and respecting nature, we're raising a generation who understand their relationship with the environment.

Our garden project won recognition for good reason. Children dig in real soil, watch seeds become food, and understand where meals come from. It's hands-on learning that sticks. We also work with the community and hold weekly sessions for anyone to attend.
