Garden

Our garden &
outdoor spaces

Every child at Busy Bugs has daily access to our garden and outdoor areas. Children grow food, explore nature, create art outdoors, and develop a lifelong connection with the natural world.

Gardening & Healthy Living

From seed to plate

We are proud to have our very own gardening area, which is accessed daily by all children across the nursery. The produce grown by the children is used in our healthy meals and snacks, helping them develop a positive relationship with nutritious food from an early age.

Growing with Sarah

We invite parents to join us every Tuesday for our gardening sessions with Sarah. These sessions encourage family involvement, strengthen home-nursery partnerships, and allow parents to be part of their child's learning journey.

Nature & Discovery

Learning through nature

Our garden supports wider learning opportunities beyond growing food. We also have a dedicated outdoor art area within the garden, where children can create artwork inspired by nature — painting, drawing, or using natural materials in their creations.

The garden is a place of laughter, exploration, and joy — and it is clear how much the children truly enjoy spending time there.

Nurture garden overview

Our Nurture Garden provides a safe, secure and stimulating outdoor space where children can explore a wide variety of experiences through play.

This carefully designed environment encourages curiosity, independence and confidence while supporting children’s social, emotional and sensory development.

Outdoor play is an essential part of our provision. The Nurture Garden allows children to learn through hands-on experiences, take managed risks, and develop key skills in a calm and supportive environment.

Through purposeful outdoor learning, we help children build confidence, resilience and independence while having fun.
